This Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie recipe is thick and creamy, and thanks to the combination of peanut butter and mixed berries it tastes just like peanut butter and jelly (if the name didn’t give it away already)! It’s perfect for breakfast, a snack or if you’re just feeling like a bit of childhood nostalgia with a twist.
This smoothie recipe includes kale, banana, mixed berries (fresh or frozen is fine), peanut butter, hemp seeds and chia seeds. Blend these ingredients up with a plant-based milk such as coconut or almond and you have a thick and creamy smoothie that tastes just like peanut butter and jelly! While the peanut butter, hemp seeds and chia seeds are high in healthy fats and plant protein, you could also add a spoonful of vegan protein powder to add some extra protein.
Any peanut butter will work just fine, however I personally love Mayver’s Peanut Butter as they are made in Australia from nothing but roasted peanuts and a pinch of salt.
If you don’t have a lot of time during the week, this smoothie is super simple to create for breakfast or a snack. However, if you are more into meal prepping on the weekend, you could make a batch and freeze it into smoothie cubes to make it even easier to whip up during the week.
