This Matcha Smoothie is the perfect way to start your day. It combines earthy matcha and sweet mango with banana, spinach and coconut milk to create a refreshing and energising smoothie.

Matcha Smoothie Ingredients

This smoothie recipe includes matcha, mango, banana, spinach, chia seeds and hemp seeds. Blend these ingredients up with some coconut milk for a refreshing and energising smoothie. You can use fresh or frozen fruit depending on the season, either will work just fine.

Matcha: I use the Mindful Foods Matcha Powder for this smoothie. It contains a delicious combination of matcha tea, broccoli, lemon moringa and lemon myrtle.

Coconut Milk: Any plant-based milk will work but I recommend Pure Harvest Coco Quench coconut milk. It’s organic and made from a blend of coconut milk and brown rice.

Protein Powder: The chia seeds and hemp seeds in this smoothie add some extra plant-based protein and healthy fats. You could also add a vegan protein powder to this smoothie to make it a bit more hearty (particularly if you’re consuming this as a meal or post-workout). I use a flavourless protein powder from Amazonia in my smoothies for a little extra protein.

If you don’t have a lot of time during the week, this smoothie is super simple to create for breakfast or a snack. If you’re more into meal prepping on the weekend, you could make a batch and freeze it into smoothie cubes. This makes it even easier to whip up during the week.

Equipment

  • High-speed blender
  • 1 cup
  • Tablespoon

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tsp Matcha powder
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 cups frozen mango
  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 2 cups coconut milk

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender and process until smooth.
  • Serve as desired!
